Adults can meet up at the Library monthly at this time for interesting presentations, crafts, games-- and coffee, snacks and conversation with friends you know-- and those you've just met.

Participants gather at our designated tables at BrickHaven, and everyone brings a book of their choice to read silently for 45 minutes while enjoying a drink/meal. Then they will share a bit about the book they’re reading. Registration required to reserve space.

Join us for the 2026 MSU AgeAlive Education & Research Forum and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, March 26, 2026. The event will run from 9 am – 2 pm at the MSU Federal Credit Union Headquarters #1 (new location – 3777 West Rd) in East Lansing, Ishpeming Multi-Purpose Senior Center (121 Greenwood St) in Ishpeming (U.P. Remote View: In-person activities and presenters remote from East Lansing), and virtually on Zoom.
Each year, this event brings together the public, direct care workers, family caregivers, MSU researchers, faculty, and students along with community partners for discussion on aging issues. The theme for our 2026 session is “Advancing Mobility Across Settings As We Age.” This year, we will be hosting the AgeAlive Awards Ceremony as part of the Forum at 1 pm recognizing leadership in aging-related research, intergenerational programming and community impact.
The event is free with registration. A light breakfast and lunch are included upon request. A select number of vendors and resource tables will be on-site to learn more about services available in your community.

Meals on Wheels Western Michigan’s annual March for Meals Community Walk & 5k Run is a family-friendly event for people of all ages and abilities to come together and support the health and independence of older adults in Western Michigan. The 2-mile walk and the 5k race are on that same loop. Dogs are welcome, so bring your furry friends!
Jackson College invites families and community members to its Annual Easter Egg Hunt, happening Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on the Central Campus. The festive event offers a morning of excitement, laughter and sweet surprises for children ages 10 and under.Family-friendly activities begin at 10 a.m., including face painting, inflatables and a petting zoo. The Easter Egg Hunt will start promptly at 10:30 a.m., with children searching for colorful eggs in designated age groups: 0–2, 3–5, 6–7 and 8–10. Parents are encouraged to bring cameras for photos with the Easter Bunny, who will be available for special picture opportunities. Families should also bring a basket or bag so children can collect their eggs and treats.Jackson College purchases its Easter eggs from a St. Louis–based company that partners with a sheltered workshop, providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.The event will take place in the Central Campus Quad. In the event of inclement weather, activities will move indoors.
Enjoy a fun and engaging beginner’s session of one the fastest growing aspects of toy collecting and modeling: Toy Photography. Attendees can bring a toy (3”-7”) to photograph, and several toy dioramas will be on display for photo opportunities.
